Hummus is a dip, spread, or savory dish made from cooked, mashed chickpeas blended with tahini, lemon juice, and garlic. It is popular in the Middle East and in Middle Eastern cuisine around the globe. It can also be found in most grocery stores in North America and Europe.

Recipe:

Ingredients : 1 small sized beetroot 1+ 1/2 cup of chickpeas (soaked overnight and boiled ) 1 tbsp of finely chopped green chilli, ginger and garlic 1 tsp of salt or according to taste 1 tbsp of roasted sesame seeds or tahini sauce 1 tsp of roasted melon seeds ( optional) Fresh coriander leaves. 1 tbsp of olive oil for topping. 1 tsp lemon juice Method :

First you need to wash and boil overnight soaked chickpeas. Strain off all water from chickpeas. Keep aside.

Now oil and roast the beetroot on the stove or in an oven for 10 minutes. Let it cool. Then chop it into smaller pieces. In a pan, roast the sesame seeds until aromatic.

Now in blender add chickpeas, beetroot pieces, roasted sesame seeds and ginger, garlic, salt and green chilli paste and grind until you gets smooth paste. In between add 1 tsp of olive oil. Grind again. You can add a little water, if you find the mixture a little dry.

Transfer the mixture into a bowl, and add the lemon juice. Mix well.

Finish with a drizzling of olive oil, fresh coriander leaves, roasted melon- sesame seeds on top. Serve with pita breads. Toasted buns, breads whatever you want. Hummus can be eat with anyone. Thank you everyone 😊
